Where can I get a Blu-ray disc without a digital copy?

Question by Hyper: Where can I get a Blu-ray disc without a digital copy?
Does anyone have any idea where I can purchase Blu-ray copies of DVD’s without being forced to buy the pointless digital copies that so often come with them? I don’t want these extra discs as I have no use whatsoever for them (I do have portable media devices but I rarely tend to use them for movies) and I resent paying an extra £5 or so for an item I’ll never use. I want the Blu-ray disc alone. Any ideas?

If I were you, I’d just buy them from Amazon which tends to have the best prices. However, you still have to get the digital copy. Your only option might be Ebay but you’re just as likely to get scammed big time on Ebay. You’re not really paying the £5 just for the digital copy. You’re paying it for the Blu-Ray HD version of the movie and all the extra features that come with it. The disks themselves barely cost anything to manufacture; you’re primarily paying royalties on the movies and patents for the Blu-Ray technology.

Question by timster799: What devices, besides iPod, will work with a DVD Digital Copy movie?
I am starting to buy blu-ray movies and I notice some new releases come with a DVD Digital Copy of the movie that can put on a portable media device. I don’t have an iPod, what else will work? Will a Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone with windows media player on it? Any other suggestions are appreciated.

From what I can ascertain a Digital Copy Movie will only work on ipods and computers….

Although if you are savvi enough its possible you may be able to get it on a smartphone and indeed set a precedent but to be safe its only ipods and computers that allow this.

Hey everybody! I want to copy Blu-ray to my computer and watch it on Windows media player, is there any way to change Blu-ray to avi or wmv formats?

You need a program such as DVDFab. I think Blue-Ray discs will convert them to high def .mkv files. Then you need to convert to the format you wish to use.
