have come to these three laptops does anyone have any input on why i should not have ranked these this way and if i should buy a different one please give details

Notes: the dell XPS has SSD intergrated but witht he other two i expect to can the HHD to SSD and am expecting to pay about 400
I am more then likely going to buy the HP becuase unlike the Alienware it does not weight a tone and has just as good spec and is cheaper. I do like the finger print reader i still think is cool
and finally what do you think about the GeForce GT 230 for the hp because it has not been tested that much and can not find and reviews on it

I’m stopping at the HP because that’s the one I just purchased. There’s a free upgrade to 6Gb RAM too. I’m quite impressed with the machine and runs all my apps including heavy gaming quite well.

I’m currently looking into buying a media player..I’m attracted by the size of these devices making them very easy to move from room to room being that i’m often changing which room I’m watching my movies in. I’m currently looking at a Western Digital media player that seems to have won me over thus far…What I would like to know is what specs are most important when looking into this…

(p.s. a big plus of this particular model that it has composite outputs as well has HDMI being that not all my tv’s have HDMI plug-ins)

You have a lot of choices, what with Boxee, Roku, Apple, and Sony. One thing to consider is the TV you’ll be using. If it’s an older TV without an HDMI input, the only digital streaming player that will work, in addition to the one you’re considering, is the Sony Streaming Player – both the SMP-N100 and the SMP-N200.
Now, if your targeted TV has an HDMI input, then any of the choices will work.
Second thing to consider is the streaming content you want to watch. While every device has Netflix and Amazon Video, to name a couple, there are exclusive options with each streaming player. For example, Sony has Crackle, the Sony Entertainment Network, and other exclusive programming.
Lastly, if Full HD 1080p matters to you, make sure you look for players that support it.

Yes it will run fine, not on max settings, but it will run at around mid settings without terrible lag.

I have old cassettes, vhs tapes, and camcorder mini tapes that I wish to convert to digital format. Can anyone please recommend some bang for the buck converters for all three of these media devices? It does not matter If I have to buy separate converters. I have a s video output in my camcorder but not my computer. Your assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated!
