I want to start an internet TV Station?

Question by Karl L: I want to start an internet TV Station?
I would like to start an internet TV station. Somethng along the lines of VH1 or MTV(Minus the reality TV shows).
I have done a bit of research and even wrote a business plan, on it.
Thing is I dont have the money or the knowledge about webcasting. I was wondering if there was a less expensive and small scale way for a novice to webcast live. I want to see if this kind of venture is worth the effort and if it will pay off financially.

Your question isn’t very clear. What are you switching FROM? What are you using for surround sound? How are you connecting to the internet? Is the TV internet enabled? Are you connecting via an internet enabled bluray player?

Assuming that you have a surround sound amplifier and your TV is internet aware, you have to provide a path for the audio from your TV to your amplifier. What kind of path depends on the specific TV and the specific amplifier.

Typically flat screen TV’s have a digital audio output, and most surround sound amplifiers have digital audio inputs. Connect the two with the appropriate cable and you’re good to go, although you’ll still have to READ THE USER MANUAL for the surround sound system to figure out which sequence of buttons enable sound from the digital input. I know how to do it on my Onkyo receiver, but I’m sure its different for yours.

Does watching internet TV from a USB aerial eat into my monthly download allowance?

Question by : Does watching internet TV from a USB aerial eat into my monthly download allowance?
I have a little stick that plugs into the USB port and allows my laptop to recieve TV channels. Howvever, it apparently needs an internet connection to work, it won’t do anything on its own (unless I am mistaken?).
So, when I watch internet TV, does that actually involve any downloading? I ask this because I am using an internet connection that has a monthly download limit, which sucks.

thanks.

Does Anyone Know How To Watch Internet TV?

Question by : Does Anyone Know How To Watch Internet TV?
I am wondering if anyone knows the best way to watch internet TV? I want to watch my favorite shows live on the internet but have no idea how to!

Best answer:

Answer by Bryan
Internet TV is usually not live. They usually become available after they premiere on TV/Cable etc. To view your favorite shows online i would browse to the TV networks website (ABC, CBS, etc.) and see what they have available to watch. Not everything is available but new things get added everyday.

You may have to download the appropriate plug-ins to watch video on websites, but they will usually inform you if you don’t have them, and tell you how to get them.

Can Google TV watch all of the same Internet TV content as the Boxee Box?

Question by : Can Google TV watch all of the same Internet TV content as the Boxee Box?
I want to cut the cord and not pay for cable (just broadband).

I can use Boxee Box and see a lot of Internet streaming TV. Google sounds like it is intended to be an addition to your regular cable, but if I don’t have cable what sort of content will I have access to?

You’ll have to wait until one of the upcoming implementations is actually delivered, as I don’t think one is actually out yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks.
