What specs do I look for in a media player?? (i.e. Apple TV etc.)?

Question by : What specs do I look for in a media player?? (i.e. Apple TV etc.)?
I’m currently looking into buying a media player..I’m attracted by the size of these devices making them very easy to move from room to room being that i’m often changing which room I’m watching my movies in. I’m currently looking at a Western Digital media player that seems to have won me over thus far…What I would like to know is what specs are most important when looking into this…

Here’s an Amazon link to the model I’m currently looking at…Good or Bad??
(p.s. a big plus of this particular model that it has composite outputs as well has HDMI being that not all my tv’s have HDMI plug-ins)

You have a lot of choices, what with Boxee, Roku, Apple, and Sony. One thing to consider is the TV you’ll be using. If it’s an older TV without an HDMI input, the only digital streaming player that will work, in addition to the one you’re considering, is the Sony Streaming Player – both the SMP-N100 and the SMP-N200.

Now, if your targeted TV has an HDMI input, then any of the choices will work.

Second thing to consider is the streaming content you want to watch. While every device has Netflix and Amazon Video, to name a couple, there are exclusive options with each streaming player. For example, Sony has Crackle, the Sony Entertainment Network, and other exclusive programming.

Lastly, if Full HD 1080p matters to you, make sure you look for players that support it.

Have fun streaming!

Why is my none 3D TV picture flickers while playing a connected 3D blu-ray player?

Question by : Why is my none 3D TV picture flickers while playing a connected 3D blu-ray player?
I just bought an LG 3D Blu-ray player and connected it to my LG TV which is not 3D. The picture flickers a lot. What is causing the picture flickering. (1) Is it because the TV is not 3D. (2) Or the HDMI cable has to be 1.4a to be compatible with the 3D Blu-ray player. Please help before I return the Blu-ray player.

Q&A: Will a standard HDMI cable work on a 3D tv with a 3D Blu Ray player?

Question by : Will a standard HDMI cable work on a 3D tv with a 3D Blu Ray player?
I just purchased a Vizio 32″ 3D tv last night. I already had an HDMI cable, so I used it to hook up the 3D Blu Ray player to the 3D tv. It appears to give a very nice 3D effect. However, I did buy the Vizio HDMI cable specifically for 3D televisions just in case mine didn’t work. Will I get a better effect using the “3D ready” HDMI cables, or do I just need to take it back?

To be honest all HDMI cables work about the same, so don’t waste your money on exspencive one when the cheapest ones you can get will work just the same.

Q&A: ML648S digital media player (2 gb) How to get to equalizer modes?

Question by : ML648S digital media player (2 gb) How to get to equalizer modes?
Hello there! I was wondering after a hectic attempt of adding Media Player Utilities 4.24 unto my computer. TO no avail, I tried getting to the equalizer settings after I added this program. But this was only for the videos. I press “mode” after I unplug it and try using it myself. I have settings, music, movie and pictures. When I go to settings, like it says on the hand out manual. I have these options:

LCD Set
Language
Online Device
Memory Info
Firmware Vers.
Remove MTP INFO
Default

and
Exit.

Does anyone know, how to get to Equalizer settings such as SRS WOW Mode and alternate Play Modes? If anyone does thank you!! Highly appreciated.

Best answer:

Answer by JJ
Play a song. While the song is playing hit the round button on the side and that takes you to the SRS Wow, Shuffle etc. The firmware setup on these players is wonky I know but, it was cheap and I use it at the gym. When the song is not playing/paused hitting the round button takes you to an explorer type interface.

If i sell my blu ray player, will the people that i sold it to be able to access my netflix?

Question by : If i sell my blu ray player, will the people that i sold it to be able to access my netflix?
So i’ve been accessing netflix on my blu ray player, but I play on selling it soon. My question is, will the people that i sell the player to be able to access my netflix and watch entertainment for free? I never type in a username and password when connecting to netflix thru my blu ray player so i have no way of knowing if they would be able to connect themselves or not. Detailed answer would be great, thanks.

What are some important features that a blu ray player should have?

Question by I need answers: What are some important features that a blu ray player should have?
Some that I can think of are: Ability to play MPG4 format, wireless update capability via internet, etc.

Are there any more I need to look for?

I have a Samsung 52 inch LCD HD TV, a sony receiver, and sony wireless surround sound system.

Can you recommend me a good blu ray player for me?

Best answer:

Answer by Q & A King
One feature that I saw recently in a blu ray player was that it could stream Netflix movies instantly. I currently do that through my Mac and send the picture to my flat screen and the sound to my receiver. It’s very handy and you can try Netflix for free.

I think it was a Samsung
