Question by twirky: Why will my Toshiba television only work when my blu-ray player is turned on?
My Toshiba television only turns on when my blu-ray player is turned on. Is this some type of setting on the blu-ray player or on the tv? A few key points: the blu-ray player is attached by an HDMI cable, The tv is a 46 inch Toshiba 46XV640U, and the blu-ray player is a Memorex MVBD2520.

HDMI allows for CEC – Consumer electronics control, which each company markets by a different name.

Go to either the BLu-ray player or the TV and disable it.
